Filled with darkness like a blinded man
Needed something solid on which to stand.
I was searching for the truth in a world of lies.
Saw deception and the greed of men.
Felt the pressure from the world of sin.
I seen evil through a vain disguise
Chorus
Then I met Him. He gave me light so I could see.
Then I met Him. He opened up his heart to me.
Then I met Him. I was bound but now I'm free.
He bore my shame, now I praise His name
cause Jesus is Lord to me.
Stranded on that sea of sin
had no choice it was sink or swim.
Had a savior but I turned away.
Filled with questions to things I couldn't explain.
Tired of living life filled with guilt and shame.
Needed something but what I couldn't say.
Chorus
Then I met him. He gave me peace like I never knew.
Then I met him and I knew his words were truth.
Then I met him. He turned the old man into new.
He bore my shame, now I praise his name
cause Jesus is Lord to me.
"Seek the Kingdom," I heard them say.
"Trust in the Lord. He'll take your cares away.
He bore your burdens on Calvary."
I felt this tuggin' deep inside of me.
He was holding out his hand and saying "Follow me."
Chorus And since I met him, My lives' been turned around.
And since I met him, he's shown me love where it couldn't be found.
And since I met him, my hearts' no longer bound.
He bore my shame, now I praise his name
cause Jesus is Lord to me.
