Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

Proverbs 29:18

n the Gospel of Luke, the 8th chapter, Jesus spoke of the Word of God as being like a seed that when planted on good ground would produce a bountiful harvest. He continues by clarifying the good ground as an honest and pure heart. I believe that as the Word of God is delivered in song to a heart that is open and willing to receive, and as the melody and tune remain, that person is able to keep the word and bring forth fruit with patience.

Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

Ephesians 5:19

here is little question about the influence that music can have all of us. Our history is replete with the way music has affected society. From the rythmic sprituals on early American plantations, to the thought provoking protest songs of the turbulent 60s, or the soothing lullabye of the nursing mother to child, music is a powerful medium for shapping thoughts, delivering messages, supporting movements, or providing peace and comfort. But when coupled with the power of God's Word, music has the ability to radically change a life through salvation, deliverance, healing, encouragment or exhortation.
